The canyon, in the only format that holds it

Flat photographs lose the Grand Canyon — the whole subject is distance, and distance is what a print throws away. This is the second Grand Canyon set, three reels and seven stereo images each, where the far rim finally sits where it belongs: miles back, behind the layers in between.

Scenic reels are where the format began in 1939, sold at park counters as souvenirs before anyone thought of them as toys. A canyon card is that idea at full strength, and it still works in any standard viewer held up to a window.
