Mt. St. Helens, Washington — 3 Reel Set

A mountain photographed on both sides of 1980

This set does something no other scenic card in the library attempts: it shows Spirit Lake and Mt. St. Helens as they were before the eruption, then as they are now. The 21 images cover the mountain from a spread of viewpoints, including an aerial look down into the crater and lava dome, plus the Visitor Center.

The before-and-after pairing turns a souvenir into a document — the same landscape, one geological event apart, with the stereo depth making the missing summit genuinely legible. The reels work in all View-Master viewers.
