Seattle, Washington — 3 Reel Set

Puget Sound in three reels

Seattle on a classic 3-reel card: 21 stereo views, seven images per reel, of the city between the water and the mountains. It is a skyline with real middle distance — waterfront, towers and a horizon of peaks behind them, which is exactly the arrangement stereo pairs render best.

Cards like this were bought at the airport and the Center on the way home, which is why they have aged into something more interesting than a souvenir: a city that rebuilt itself, held in the version the reel photographers found.
